1.What kind of courses does Sunshine Chinese provide for students to choose from?
Sunshine Chinese provides General Chinese, Business Chinese, HSK Preparation, Chinese Character, Language Skills, Chinese Culture, etc. The total hour for group lesson of each level is 60 and for private is 50. The intensive class for one level lasts 4 weeks and the total hour is 80。
2.How to choose courses? What length is appropriate?
It depends on students’ own learning objectives. To those who only want to master simple Chinese and about 1000 new words, 80 sentences and basic grammars, they generally need to finish the 150-hour elementary daily speaking course.
To those who want to learn further, be able to express their own emotions, master about 3000 new words, 150 common sentences and grammars, they generally need to finish the 330-hour intermediate daily speaking course.
To those who want to express their ideas in Chinese exactly and communicate with local people easily, they need to finish the 450-hour advanced daily speaking course.
3.Is learning Chinese characters a must?
It isn’t a must. But because Chinese is not an alphabetic writing language, character is the carrier of the language. If you can’t recognize Chinese characters, it will be difficult for you to continue the courses above intermediate level. So in every lesson, the teacher will set aside several minutes to explain characters and its rule for the student.
4.How to know one’s Chinese level?
We provide free proficiency test before the lesson. When the student comes to our school, we’ll arrange normative test (in both spoken and written) and then arrange the most suitable course for the student according to the test result. Students can also do the test on our website to get a rough idea of their levels.
5.What teaching methods do we use?
We teach vividly and often interact by doing role play in simulated scene. Our teaching methods are divided into following four steps:
Comprehension: Learning new words is very important and is helpful for the students to understand the text. So generally it will be learnt first.
Literacy: Learn how to write, organize and use the new words in the text.
Practice: Try to speak out the words and sentences that have been learnt.
Use: Use the knowledge that has been learnt in the class or the after class practice. |
